"London Grammar" Live Session shot on Evolution 2X

The London based cinematographer Lewis Knaggs shot a Live Session for "London Grammar" on the Evolution 2X lenses.

Lewis Knaggs:

The lenses are super reliable and easy to use from a mechanical point of view. They are mechanically very fluid and sharp at each stop which is great for an anamorphic with such a vintage look.

The lenses have a few characteristics that I really love, they are based on the original optical design of the Kowa anamorphic which are a favourite of mine - the flares you can achieve and the slightly misty vintage look is great, especially in the music realm, it brings an extra energy to the frames.

From an ergonomic point of view, they are simple to use. Swinging between the focal lengths within the set is quick and easy as they are quite lightweight. This keeps the build of the camera quite lightweight which is a preference for us.

I often like to shoot handheld and nip around to grab interesting angles, and with these it makes it very easy, without breaking your back.

I am looking forward to getting a set on my own at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later!
